Controlling Guns

There is serious debates concerning gun control, thinking controlling guns will solve mass shootings that take place too often. Unfortunately controlling guns does not solve the problem. I think the problem can be  solved if you could control the people that may be inclined to use a gun. Here is my solution:
1. if you commit a felony and own a gun, two years in prison. If you commit a felony using a gun four years in prison and in both cases, law enforcement confiscates the gun.
2. If you are a felon and are caught with a gun, two years in prison. If you are a convicted felon and commit another felony, four years in prison. If you are a convicted felon and use a gun in another felony, six years in prison. in all cases, law enforcement confiscates the guns.
Try this for five years and see if the gun crimes decrease. It appears that having laws that’s supposed to control guns does not work; Chicago being a stark example.

  1. All people who are felons are not bad people. These days it is far to easy to oppose government for reasons of conscience and end up with a felony. It is felonies of violence that are bad.
