I am saddened to hear of the passing of Don Emmons. He was a great friend and confidant. I saw him many times during his crew member days and the DET locations overseas. I have many memories of our meetings at various places including Kadena, Mildenhall England, Blackbird reunions in Reno and at my house in California city when he was attempting to reactivate the SR-71 Blackbird at Edwards Air Force Base in the early 1990s. Don was a strong advocate of the capabilities that the SR-71 Blackbird Contributions to the Intel community. Both he and Tom Allison were instrumental in my wife Janis and I being able to spend the last five years of the SR71 deployment at Kadena Air Force Base. Rest In Peace, Don Emmons!
